1932 The scope of activities of Bowden Wire Co had expanded so the name was changed to Bowden (Engineers) Ltd[1]. Built vans under licence from Stevens Brothers (Wolverhampton).

1937 General light production engineers. "Bowdenex" Brake Cable Assemblies and "Bowdenite" Wire Mechanism and Fittings. [2]

1951 Bowden Holdings was converted into a public company and acquired the whole capital of Bowden (Engineers) Ltd[3]

1952 Bowden Holdings acquired Phoenix Castings Ltd

1953 Bowden Holdings acquired Improved Hinges (Warwick) Ltd. Public issue of shares in Bowden Holdings[4]

1961 Bowden (Engineers) were manufacturers of "Bowden" wire mechanisms and "Bowdenex" cable assemblies for vehicle handbrakes, "Bowdenflex" precision ball bearing remote control, high pressure flexible hydraulic hose units and fittings. 400 employees. [5]

1969 Acquired by Adwest Group[6]
