1836 Advert: 'FOUNDRY STOCK, and FOUNDRY AND SMITHS' TOOLS.
TO BE SOLD BY AUCTION, on Monday the 14th of November, 1836, and following Days, by Mr. R. Maynard, at the Bridge Foundry, Durham,
ALL the valuable STOCK and FOUNDRY and SMITHS' TOOLS, belonging to Messrs. Carter and Hall, who are declining Business.
STOCK.
Drying Cylinder for Paper Mill, 4 Feet 6 Inches Wide, 3 Feet Diameter — weight 20 Cwt.; a large Hot Air Stove, on an improved Principle, for heating a Church or Chapel; Two small Ditto, for Entrance Hall or School; Two Ornamental full Register Stoves (fine cast); One fine Polished Half-Register Stove, with Two Sets of Bars and Brass Ornaments; One Half Ditto, (fine cast); Seven Ornamental Fenders (fine cast); Forty Sham Stoves and Coves; Twenty Ovens, Round and Square, different Sizes; Twenty Sets of Cottage Bars; Ten Boilers and a Quantity of Pots, &c.; 700 Feet Metal Spouting, Half-round and Square; 250 Feet Down-coming Pipe; Thirty Plough Mould-Boards and Shoes; a Sheet-iron Boiler, 8 feet Long, 3½ Feet Diameter; upwards of Four Hundred Files, of different Sizes a large Quantity of Emery, of five Sizes,- Sand and Emery Paper ; House Bells; Brass Levers and Roses for Bells; Oven Hinges; Copper and Old Brass, Lead, &c. ; Eighteen Shovels and Spades; Two Man Traps ; Ten Tons of Iron of all Sizes, Flat. Feetham, Innkeeper, Bishop Auckland; Mrs. Calvert, Half Moon, Gateshead; Miss Kay, Bridge Inn, Bishop-Wearmouth; and the Residence of Mr. Maynard, Auctioneer, Crossgate, Durham, the Week previous to the Sale.
The Sale will commence each Day at Ten o'Clock. Crossgate, Durham, Oct. 28th, 1836.'[1]
