Bryan Cole Bartley

1922 C.B.E., M.I.Mech.E., late Lieut.-Col. R.A.F., 845, Salisbury House, London, E.C. Ed. at Haileybury College, and at University College of London. Engineering training at Vickers, Ltd., Barrow-in-Furness, for six years; left for South Africa in 1897; Mechanical Engineer, Jumpers Deep, 1898; joined 1st Railway Pioneer Regiment, Boer War; Captain in this regiment. Joined the firm of Sykes and Co. as partner in 1902, and took over the whole business of Sykes and Co., Ltd., 34 in 1909 in London and South Africa. Managing Director of Mallett and Co., Ltd., Engineers, East London. Clubs: Carlton, Junior Carlton, R.A.F. War Services.—Joined R.N.V.R., June, 1915 (Lieutenant); in France most of 1916 with No. 3 Wing R.N.A.S.; Assistant Controller Aircraft Production, 1917-1919; Lieut.-Colonel R.A.F., given C.B.E. (Military).
