Bühler Brothers

1860 Adolf Bühler founded a cast iron foundry in Uzwil, Switzerland.

In the first year of production, Mr. Bühler and two employees made 23 tons of iron casting, mainly used for knitting machines.

1872 Started to produce milling machinery, when they started to make cast iron rollers.

By 1876, they were selling rolls of 300mm

By 1880 they were also manufacturing "semolina purifiers, plan sifters, mixing machines, grain-cleaning and drying machines"

1880 Established a representative agreement with the United Kingdom

1880s Arranged with Henry Simon Ltd to manufacture Simon roller mills.

Henry Simon Ltd. also carried out sales of Buhler's Roller Mills and other Flour Milling Machines.

By 1890 the firm could build whole mills and silos. The firm was establishing itself as one of the leading suppliers of milling machinery in Europe.

1891 they received an agency contract for Russia and founded a subsidiary company in Paris.

Late 1920s, once Henry Simon Ltd. had established their new Cheadle Heath engineering works, the arrangement with Buhler's ended.

Today the firm is a flourishing international supplier of over 300 different types of machinery, including milling machines.
