1964 Public company; shares began trading[1]
1966 First general meeting; 7 subsidiary companies at the time the company went public and 2 more had been acquired since then[2]
1971 After several small acquisitions in the transport field, the company made 2 engineering acquisitions and disposed of some subsidiaries - acquired a private company Parcbond, which had agreed to acquire Premac Engineering (Dunstable) and Keland Ltd[3]. Beechmount Investment Co gained a majority shareholding in Burnholme and Forder[4]
1972 Acquired Clawford Haulage but failed in a bid to take over Nationwide Leisure[5]. Acquired Motor Rail[6]. The company was based in Luton at this time[7]. The engineering division was sold to Motor Rail; two depots out of 5 in the transport division were closed; the other part of the company was the property division[8]
