Brother of Rowland Macdonald Stephenson

c1819 Born the son of Rowland Stephenson, banker and politician, and his wife Mary Elizabeth Stephenson

1852 February 4th. Obtained Master Certificate (Register of Seamen)

1862 August 14th. Married at Bathampton to Elizabeth, the daughter of the late Lieut-Col Archibald Irvine of the Bengal Engineers. Cecil Stephenson is Deputy Agent of the East Indian Railways.[1]

1866 July 25th. Birth of daughter at Dum Dum.[2]

1868 January 1st. Birth of daughter at Dum Dum.[3]

1875 November 21st. Death at sea.

Adm. pens. (age 18) at PEMBROKE, June 13, 1838. 7th s. of Rowland McDonald(sic) [banker], late of Romford, Essex (and Mary Eliza). B. there, Nov. 14, 1819. School, Merchant Taylors'. Matric. Michs. 1838; Scholar. Went to New Zealand. Afterwards on the staff of the East Indian Railway. Died in 1875. M.I. in Calcutta cathedral. (Merchant Taylors' Sch. Reg.)
