Charles-Urbain Bricogne

French inventor and railway engineer.
Born in Paris 17 March 1816, died 22 February 1898
He was a founding member of the Société des ingénieurs civils de France, and chaired the Association des industriels contre les accidents du travail and the revue scientifique le Génie civil.
He was Superintendent of the Chemin de Fer du Nord (Northern Railway), where he introduced many improvements, including the Bricogne brake.
He designed the Railway Carriage Carpet Beater and Cushion Cleaner manufactured by E. Ravasse.
