CHARLES ALBERT SADLER, D.SC., was born at Parkley, Flintshire, on 3rd February 1882.
He was educated at Wrexham County School and the University of Liverpool, where he took the degree of D.Sc. in Physics, and was Assistant Lecturer in that subject from 1905-1911. During that period he was also engaged in research on the Röntgen Rays.
In 1911 he was appointed Lecturer in Physics at University College, Reading, where, during the War, he assisted in organizing under the Ministry of Munitions a training centre for engineering work.
In 1919 he became chief metallurgist to the firm of Allen and Simmonds, Thames Side Engineering Works, which position he held at the time of his death, on 5th December 1920, in his thirty-ninth year.
He became an Associate of this Institution in 1918.
