Public school. Articled to late E. J. Purnell, City Surveyor and Waterworks Engineer, Coventry. Assistant and afterwards Deputy Borough Surveyor of Walsall; Borough Eng. and Surveyor of Sutton Coldfield, 1889-99; private practice since 1889. Chief Works: Sewerage and Waterworks, Coventry and District; Walsall Sewage Disposal Works and Main Outfall Sewers; sewerage, new road construction and other public works at Sutton Coldfield, Tamworth and elsewhere. Paper mill and river works (weirs and sluices); steel and reinforced concrete construction at Tamworth and Sutton Coldfield.
