1816 Born in Birmingham son of Samuel Green, a plater, and his wife Elizabeth[1]

1836 Dissolution of the Partnership between Charles Green and John Newman, at Birmingham, in the County of Warwick, as Gold Platers, under the firm of Charles Green[2].

1840 Charles's business turned to making gold jewellery

1851 Charles Green 34, jeweller employing 4 men and 4 boys, Mary Green 34, William Green 11, George Green 9, Charles Green 7, Rosina Green 5, Walter Green 3, Maryann Green 2, Alfred Green 3 Mo, Charlotte Green 11, were living in Birmingham, St Georges[3]

At some point the jewellery business became Charles Green and Son

1865 Charles died in Handsworth; John Parsons, gunmaker, Joseph Spencer, lapidary, and his son George, jeweller, were the executors[4]
