CHARLES WALTER EDWARDS, B.A.I. (Dubl.), born at Enniscorthy, Wexford, on the 25th April, 1873, died at Singapore on the 9th April, 1916.
He was first engaged under the late Mr. L. Maccassey, M. Inst. C.E., on the Belfast Waterworks, and in 1898 joined the staff of Messrs. Dick, Kerr and Company, for whom he acted as Engineer on tramway and light railway contracts in the Potteries, at East Ham, Sunderland, Mandalay and Singapore.
He also acted in a similar capacity for Messrs. John Aird and Son and Mr. Walter Palliser, contractors, was for a time Assistant Engineer to the Singapore municipality, and at the time of his death was Manager to the Rap Mas rubber estate.
He was elected an Associate Member on the 4th December, 1900.
