1932 'The funeral of Mr. Claud Robert Watson, who passed away at the White Cottage, Babington, on Thursday last week took place at the Parish Church, Mells, on Saturday. The service was conducted by Canon J. O. Hannay. Mr. Watson had taken the house for a period from the Rev. F. Knight, who is doing duty abroad. He was suffering from a rare tropical disease and had hoped to improve by the change. He was burled at Mells, his express wish, because the graveyard was so beautifully kept.'[4]
