1964 Purle Brothers Holdings Ltd was incorporated, sanitary contractors.

1972 Acquired by Redland, and known as Redland Purle

1976 Purle Ltd was in liquidation[1]

1980 'The Redland Purle operation is to be taken over by a newly-formed company, owned jointly by engineering giant GKN and an Australian company, Brambles Industries. '[2]

1981 Name changed to Cleanaway Ltd

The company owned c.16 barges in London for handling wastes.

1989 Company owned by GKN and Brambles of Australia[3]

2001 Brambles Industries absorbed Cleanaway [5]

2006 Name changed to Veolia Cleanaway (UK) Ltd
