1934 Distillers Co gave Cleveland Petroleum Products Co the rights to use the trademark Discol in exchange for an undertaking to buy the alcohol needed from Distillers[3].
1936 Advert: Cleveland Discol fuel[4]. Discol was trademark of Distillers Co Ltd.
1937 Petroleum distributors.
1937 Lubricating oil and grease manufacturers. "Iceberg" Oils and Greases. [5]
1938 Anglo-American Oil Co acquired a major interest in Cleveland Petroleum Products Co
1951 Anglo-American Oil Co changed its name to Esso Petroleum Co Ltd.
1954 Esso increased its holding in the company
1958 Esso acquired the remaining shares in Cleveland Petroleum Products Co [6].
1962 Advert: Cleveland Discol fuel. Discol was trademark of Distillers Co Ltd. Cleveland was trademark of Cleveland Petroleum Co Ltd.
1973 Both the Esso and Cleveland names continued in use until 1973, when the Cleveland filling stations were re-branded as Esso.
