- In the 1930s, Esso acquired a major interest in Cleveland Petroleum Products Co
- 1958 Esso acquired the remaining shares in Cleveland Petroleum Products Co [6].
- 1962 Advert: Cleveland Discol fuel. Discol was trademark of Distillers Co Ltd. Cleveland was trademark of Cleveland Petroleum Co Ltd.
- 1973 Both the Esso and Cleveland names continued in use until 1973, when the Cleveland filling stations were re-branded as Esso.
