1970 Cleveland Bridge and Engineering Co was acquired by Trafalgar House
1982 Redpath Dorman Long was sold to Trafalgar House for £10 million - British Steel's chairman Ian MacGregor wanted to concentrate the corporation's activities purely on iron and steel making[1] and eventually Redpath Dorman Long was merged with Cleveland Bridge and Engineering Co. From the 1st October the structural engineering division was put under the collective umbrella of Cleveland Redpath Engineering Holdings.[2]
