in central Manchester.

It is not clear whether this bridge has an official name, but it carries Dale Street across the Rochdale Canal between locks Nos. 84 and 85, adjacent to Piccadilly Basin.

The bridge of interest is a fine cast iron arch bridge on the upstream (eastern) side of Dale Street. In more recent times, buildings have been constructed on columns immediately downstream, with the canal passing underneath. The bridge is best studied from the photographs on this page, rather than by visiting the unpleasant under-bridge location.
