Dalintober Distillery
Whisky distillers, Campbeltown
1832 The business was established by David Colville and Peter Reid, trading as Reid and Colville. At some point the business changed its name very slightly to Reid and Colvilles and that was the style that Alfred Barnard recorded. Slater's directories give the earlier style in 1886 and the later by 1903. Barnard stated that the annual output for 1884-85 had been 120,000 gallons.
1916 David Colville died. At the time of his death he was sole partner in the business.
1919 West Highland Malt Distilleries Limited was incorporated to bring together six Campbeltown distilleries in an effort to combat the slump in the whisky industry. Dalintober was purchased from David Colville's trustees.
1923 West Highland Malt Distilleries Limited went into voluntary liquidation.
1926 The distillery closed for good and was subsequently demolished.
