MR. WILLIAM CALLUM will SELL by AUCTION, without reserve, (by order of the Mortgagees and Assignees under the estate of Messrs. Dalton and Edwards, Bankrupts,) on the premises, the ISLINGTON IRONWORKS and FOUNDRY, situated in GROSVENOR-STREET WEST, BIRMINGHAM, on Monday, the 30th day of September instant, and following days, as will appear in catalogues;
The whole of the valuable and newly-manufactured MACHINERY, STEAM ENGINES, LATHES, PLANING and DRILLING MACHINES, TURNING and SCREWCUTTING MACHINES, PUNCHING MACHINES, powerful CRANES, CASTING BOXES, CORE BARS, CUPOLAS, SMITHS’ TOOLS, Wood and Iron PATTERNS, Stock of PIG and other IRON, Office and Warehouse FIXTURES, &c., &c.
The Engines consist of one eight-horse power high-pressure stationary steam engine, and one five-horse power high-pressure stationary engine, both nearly new, and in capital working condition ; also, two twenty-horse power steam engines, all complete, just finished ; also, two twenty-five-horse power, one sixteen-horse, one fourteen-horse, and one twelve-horse, all in an unfinished state ; also, a quantity of engine frames, cylinders, nozzles, valve boxes, and other valuable fittings appertaining to engines of various sizes.
The Lathes are of the most modern and valuable construction, comprising twelve in number, among which are two boring and turning lathes, with iron beds, the one 32 feet 6 inches long, with 24-inch centre, and the other 24 feet long, with 16-inch centre; four turning lathes, with iron beds, 19 feet, 15 feet, 10 feet, and 12 feet long; a screw-cutting lathe, with iron bed, 24 feet long, 16-inch centre; surface-plate lathe, with iron bed, 10 feet long, for boring and turning, 3-feet centre; pattern makers’ and other lathes, together with the tools and working implements belonging to the whole.
The Planing Machines are two in number, one to plane 7 feet, and the other 4 feet 6 inches, by Collier, of Manchester.
There are also a variety of Screw-Cutting, Punching, and Drilling Machines, with the whole of the bright shafting, bands, and appendages thereto belonging.
Ten Cranes, of wood and iron ; they are of the most powerful description, and all in good working order.
Also, a general assortment and great variety of Foundry Requisites and Implements, Smiths’ and Machinists’ Tools—consisting of cupolas, blowing fans, casting boxes, core bars, drying stoves, loom benches, iron steelyards, anvils, bellows, vices and work benches, top and bottom tools, swages, maundrills, set and striking hammers, drifts, hearth plates, cast-iron boshes, lurnace bars, pinion and bevil wheels, cast-iron pedestals and brackets, window frames, foundation plates, wrougbt-iron crow and lifting bars, weighing machine and weights, wrought-iron bars, nuts, and washers, pulley blocks and ropes.
Also, the whole of the Stock of Pig, Wrought, and Old Iron consisting of about fifty tons of forest and other pig iron, and a large quantity of wrought and old iron, which will be sold in lots to suit purchasers.
As well as a cast-iron Gas Retort, with purifying pipes, gasometer, frame, weights, and brickwork, all complete.
Also, the entire and valuable collection of Wood and Iron Patterns, of the most modern description ; Office Fixtures and Fittings, and other valuable effects, too numerous to be described in the space of an advertisement; particulars of the whole of which will appear in catalogues that will be in circulation In due course, 1s. each, to be returned to purchasers, and may be obtained at the Offices of Messrs.
