David Balfour (1866- ) O.B.E. M.Inst.C.E., F.G.S., F.R.M.S., Civil Engr.
1866 Born in Sunderland, the son of David Balfour, M.Inst.C.E., F.G.S.
Educated at Kepier Sch., Houghton-le-Spring.
Training: Armstrong Coll., Newcastle-on-Tyne.
Went into consulting practice with his father.
Career: Carried out numerous works of sewerage and sewage disposal, water supply, shipyards, bridges, railways, quays, etc.
1891 Associate member of Inst Civil Engineers
1901 Member of Inst Civil Engineers
1911 David Balfour 44, civil engineer, employer, lived in Gosforth with Alice Mary Balfour 40, David Ross Balfour 13, John Selby Balfour 5[1]
WWI Employed by the War Office and Air Ministry to design large numbers of schemes of sewerage and sewage disposal during the War for camps and aerodromes.
