Dorothy Lilian Pile (1902-1993)

1901 July 26th. Born in Yorkshire the daughter of Frank Seymour John Pile, a Professional Musician and sometime assistant master at Sedburgh School.

1920 Joined the Midland Laboratory Guild

1944 Appointed Assistant Secretary of the Sheet Metal Industries Association

1947 Associate of the new Institution of Metallurgy

1954 President of the Women's Engineering Society
