On coming ashore in 1913 he was appointed engineer to the [[Swadeshi Cotton Mills Co]], of Cawnpore, and a year later he joined the staff of [[H. I. Dixon and Co|Messrs. H. I. Dixon and Company]], general engineers and ship repairers, of Bombay, as engineer in charge of outside work. After three years' experience as chief engineer to a cement manufacturing concern in India, he returned to this country in 1925 and in the following year became lubrication engineer in the technical department of the [[Vacuum Oil Co|Vacuum Oil Company, Ltd]]. Mr. Edwards, whose death occurred on 30th January 1948, was elected an Associate Member of the Institution in 1919."
