1799 January 6th. Born in Wakefield the son of Thomas Green, a butcher, and his wife Lydia

1821 March 19th. Married in Sandal Magna to Mary Ann Ironside (1796–1866)

1821 Started in business which later became E. Green and Son[1]

1831 Birth of son Edward Green (1831-1923)

1851 Living at Sandal: Edward Green (age 50 born Wakefield), Millwright, Engineer, Iron Founder. 30 men employed. With his wife Mary Ann Green (age 54 born Sandal) and their two children Martha Green (age 20 born Wakefield) and Edward Green (age 20 born Wakefield). One visitor. One servant.[2]

1861 Living at Manygate House, Sandal Magma, Yorks.: Edward Green (age 62 born Wakefield), Master Engineer employing 200 men. With his wife Mary Ann Green (age 64 born Sandel) and their son Edward Green (age 30 born Wakefield), Master Engineer, with his wife Mary Green (age 25 born Manchester) and their son Edward Syceth Green (age 11 months born Manchester). Also Edward and Mary's son Samuel Richard Green (age 24 born Wakefield), Master Engineer. Also Edward's niece Sarah Ann Tubell (age 34 born Wakefield), Unmarried. Four servants.[3]

1865 December 30th. Died. 'December 30, at his residence, Manygates House, Sandal, near Wakefield, aged 67 years, Edward Green, Esq.'[4]

1866 August 23rd. Death of his wife. 'On Thursday, at her residence, Manygates House, Sandal, near Wakefield, aged 69, Mary Anne, widow of Edward Green, Esq.'[5]
