Edward Henry Gillett was born in 1876 and on leaving school took a full-time course at Finsbury Technical College.
Following this, he became an articled pupil with Thomas Middleton and Co of Southwark, and thereafter for a period of five years was Managing Director of the Motor Omnibus Syndicate.
His next position was as Managing Director of Gilletts, and after a further period as an Automobile Agent he became Managing Director and Engineer to British Ensign Motors.
His last position in the Industry was as Managing Director of Reduction Gears.
He died on 8th July, 1936, at the age of 60.
He was elected a Member in 1917.
