1911 Living at 65 Lower Mortlake Rd, Richmond, Surrey: Edward Gillett (age 37 born Brentford), Motor Engineer - Own account. With his wife Rose Gillett (age 41 born London).[1]

1920 Listed as a director of R. W. Crabtree and Sons

1926-27 Produced around 25 cars from the old address of Ensign, Hawthorn Road, Willesden Green

Edward Henry Gillett was born in 1876 and on leaving school took a full-time course at Finsbury Technical College.

Following this, he became an articled pupil with Thomas Middleton and Co of Southwark, and thereafter for a period of five years was Managing Director of the Motor Omnibus Syndicate.

His next position was as Managing Director of Gilletts, and after a further period as an Automobile Agent he became Managing Director and Engineer to British Ensign Motors.

His last position in the Industry was as Managing Director of Reduction Gears.

He died on 8th July, 1936, at the age of 60.

He was elected a Member in 1917.
