EDWARD SARGINT LINDSEY, born on the 16th February, 1869, died at Grindelwald, Switzerland, on the 8th February, 1912.
Trained under Messrs. Galbraith and Church, Westminster, he was first engaged on railways connected with the Rio Tinto copper mines, Spain, and then went to India, where he was successively occupied on the construction of the Assam-Bengal Railway, Tapti Valley line, and extensions of the South Indian Railway, of which he became Deputy Chief Engineer.
His last engagement was that of Chief Resident Engineer of the Canton-Kowloon Railway.
Mr. Lindsey was elected a Member of The Institution on the 4th December, 1906.
