1791 Designed the Low Moor Co's first blowing engine, made by Emmets of Birkenshaw, near Bradford. This still existed (out of use) at the works in 1906 [1]

1818 April. Died. At Haliwell, near Bolton, age 66, Edward Smalley, engineer.[2]
