1920 December 29th. Died. 'The funeral of Mr. Edward Vavasour Brown, of the firm Messrs. Huxham and Brown, engineers, of Exeter, took place at Budleigh Salterton the day before yesterday. Deceased who was 73 years' age, passed away on Sunday at Avening House, Salterton, where he had been living for some years, having retired from active participation in the Exeter business. Of a genial nature, Mr. Brown made many friends at Budleigh Salterton, and was a subscriber to the Cottage Hospital and other deserving institutions.'[5]
