Edwin Fox (1884-1954)
1884 September 08th. Born at Edgware
Educated at City of London School and received Commercial Training in Berlin.
1915 Entered the aircraft industry, Aircraft Manufacturing Co, in stores, progress and finally sub-contracts departments as manager of the latter.
1920 Became Manager of Vanden Plas Engineering 1917, Ltd.
Engaged in coachbuilding until 1923 when he joined the Board as Managing Director.
1939 Living at 44 Old Church Lane, Harrow, Mddx: Edwin Fox, Managing Director of Wood and Engineering Works. Widowed.[1]
1946 when Austin Motor Co., acquired control he became Director of the new company, Vanden Plas (England) 1923 Ltd., N.W.9.
Fellow and President, Institute of British Carriage and Automobile Manufacturers since 1949; Founder Member of Institute of Body Engineers.
