1873 Edward Lisle started a bicycle manufacturing partnership with Edwin John Sharratt in Poutney Street [4].

1876 Edward Lisle at the age of 24, started a bicycle manufacturing partnership with Edwin John Sharratt, called Sharratt and Lisle, with premises in Stewart Street. Edward's first bicycles were advertised in 1868 (sic).
1879 Sharratt left to form his own business
1881 Living at 15 Franchise Street, Wolverhampton, (age 29 born Wolverhampton), a Coachman out of employ. With his wife Sarah Ann (age 34 born Wolverhampton) and described as a General Dealer and Huckster. Also two daughters and a son. [5]
He joined forces with a Mr. Parker initially Sharratt and Parker
1891 Living at 15 Franchise Street, Wolverhampton, (age 40 born Wolverhampton), a Cycle Manufacturer and Employer. With his wife Sarah Ann (age 43 born Wolverhampton) and two daughters and a son (all born Wolverhampton). [6]
1893 Application to wind up the company of Sharratt and Co of Poultney Street, Wolverhampton, cycle manufacturers, by Smith, Pinsett and Co. Sharratt and Co was formed in 30th October 1893 to take over the business of Sharratt and Parker. The first directors had been Edwin John Sharratt and Frederick Hammond Reed. [7] [8]
1901 Living at 15 Franchise Street, Wolverhampton, (age 49 born Wolverhampton), a Cycle Finisher. Living with wife Sarah (age 50), a shopkeeper, and children Edith (age 25), Ernest (age 21), Walter (age 16), Vincent (age 14), Harry (age 12) and Nellie (age 3). The four oldest children are all workers in the cycle business. [9]
1911 Living at 15 Franchise Street, Wolverhampton (age 59 born Wolverhampton), a Cycle Fitter. With his wife Sarah Ann (age 68 born Wolverhampton) and married 35 years with six children and four still living with them plus an adopted daughter. [10].
