of Dukinfield and Droylsden

1880 'HEAVY FAILURE IN THE COTTON TRADE. A meeting of the creditors of Messrs Eli Cryer & Sons, machinists and cotton spinners, Dukinfield and Droylsden, was held at Manchester on Tuesday. The statement of affairs showed liabilities amounting to £ 25,000, including £ 24,000 to unsecured creditors. The secured creditors, however, held security for over £15,000 more than their debts, and the total assets were stated at £30,000. Liquidation by arrangement was resolved upon, and a hope was held out that the creditors would be paid in full.'[1]
