1984 'THE Rhyl area which has one of the highest unemployment levels in North Wales was dealt another massive blow yesterday with the news that 200 jobs are to be lost at the Elizabeth Ann Woodcraft factories in Kinmel Bay and Denbigh. The company which was set up almost 40 years ago has been one of the district’s largest employers in recent years Over the past 18 months however the workforce has been cut from 350 to its present 240 Staff at the factories heard yesterday that over the next 12 to 18 months the company is to gradually run down its local operations and transfer to its existing factory at Nazeing in Essex...[1]
