1836 'IRON FOUNDRY. TO BE LET OR SOLD, BY PRIVATE CONTRACT, THE LEASE of all those desirable PREMISES, called the NEWPORT FORGE FOUNDRY, together with the DWELLING-HOUSES, and Six STORE-HOUSES, GARDENS, &c. attached, now in the occupation of Elizabeth Astons, (Four Years of which Lease are unexpired next Christmas, with every prospect of a renewal.)
The above Premises, on inspection, may challenge any Foundry in the Kingdom of its size for convenience, the Lessee having gone to great expense in making it as complete as possible.
The Foundry consists of a good Air Furnace and Cupola, with a good Blast, by a Piston worked by a Water-wheel, to which is attached Machinery for Boring Pumps and Pipes, or Turning Rolls, &c., and also for Grinding Charcoal or Coal Dust; with a large Stove or Drying-room, a Blacksmith's Shop, good Stables, and an Office in the yard adjoining together with two Lathes, in an adjoining room, for the same term. There are also Three Dwelling-houses opposite, with a Walled Garden to one of them.
Whoever may be disposed to take the Premises, or purchase the Lease, must take all the Patterns, Boxes, and Utensils, together with the Castings and Cast Iron that may be in Stock then on the Premises, at a fair valuation, for which Cash and good Security on approved Bills will be accepted.
The Lessors, T. Prothero and W. Williams, Esqrs., will extend the Lease to an approved Tenant.

1839 'NOTICE TO THE PUBLIC Hereby
I hereby beg leave to inform the Public that I have given up the business of the NEWPORT FORGE IRON FOUNDRY, from the 31st of December last, in favour of my Grandson, ALONZO WILLIAM KINSEY, who is since carrying on the same on his own account, and for whom I respectfully solicit the favours and patronage of the public, so liberally bestowed on my late husband and myself, and for which I return my grateful thanks.
All Debts due to the concern, up to the above date, are requested to be paid immediately, and persons having any demands on me for the same, shall be paid by applying at my house, Marshes Road, Newport

1849 Death notice: ' Aug. 28, at Rose cottage, Marshes-road, Newport. Mrs. Elizabeth Astons, in her 74th year. The deceased was an old and much respected inhabitant of that town; remarkable for her friendly disposition and kindness of heart'[4]
