Paper makers, of Milngavie, by Glasgow

1882 The paper mill was taken over by the partnership of Andrew Noble Bertram and Colonel John Birrell.

1894 Birrell became sole proprietor on Bertram's death.

1914 The Ellangowan Paper Co Limited was incorporated, with share capital of £100,000, to take over the business.[1]

1935 Voluntary liquidation.
