Dr Eric Stanley Moult (1903-1984), CBE
1903 Born at Hucknall, Notts
Degree in mechanical engineering at Nottingham University College
1925 Joined Peter Hooker Ltd where he gained initial experience with aero-engines
1925 Married Emily Clay at Basford, Notts[1]
1925 Student member of I Mech E
1927 Joined Major Frank Halford working on design of aero-engines at the London design office, where he worked on many of Halford's notable designs for De Havillands and Napiers.
1933 Associate of I Mech E
WWII Also took on responsibility for the engineering aspects of De Havilland Propellers
1941 Worked on the H.1 gas turbine engine which became the Goblin and Ghost
1944 Chief engineer of De Havilland Engine Co on its formation
1946 Member of I Mech E
1957 Became technical director of the company
1961 Deputy technical director of Bristol Siddeley Engines
1964 Technical Director of small engines division of Rolls-Royce on its formation
1967 Retired
1984 Died at age of 80
