Eric Weston Walford was born in 1882 and was educated at Marlborough College.

He obtained his training as a Patent Agent with Boult, Wade and Tennant and passed the qualifying examination of the Chartered Institute of Patent Agents in 1905.

He then established a practice in Coventry as a Patent Agent and, with the exception of three years in the Technical Department of the Air Ministry during the War, continued to act in this capacity up to the time of his death, which occurred on 13th September, 1936, at the age of 54.

He was elected a Member in 1929.
