1839 Born in London son of Alfred Latham, an East India Merchant[1]

1861 Student civil engineer, lived in London with his parents[2]

1862 Ernest Latham, Engineer, 40 Parliament Street, Westminster.[3]

1871 Ernest Latham 31, manager of engine works, lived in Birkenhead with Janet Latham 28, Janet Latham 5, Fanny M Latham 4[4]

1881 Ernest Latham 41, mechanical engineer, lived in Birkenhead with Janet Latham 39, Janet Latham 15, Fanny M. Latham 14[5]

Presumably it was this Mr Latham who developed a concrete mixer with A. E. Carey which was used on the work at Newhaven.[6]
