1842 Five-roll sugar cane mill described and illustrated by Armengaud[1]
1843 Made a 24 ft long pit-type planing machine to the design of Mr. James Paul. Drawings here and here, and description here. The work was bolted to plates in the pit, the height of the plates being determined by a series of ledges projecting from the side frames located in the pit. The tool was traversed by a travelling bridge guided by V-ways. The bridge was moved by a shirt screw on each side, the screw moving along a keywayed shaft.[2]
