1921 Started as a department of Carter, Paterson and Co., Ltd.

1934 Express Motor and Body Works, Ltd., became a company with Mr. J. B. Oster, who was associated with Carter, Paterson and Co., Ltd., for 29 years, as managing director. He left to join Garlick, Burrell and Edwards Ltd., at Liverpool

1939 Developed a new design of van with sliding door for Carter, Paterson[1]

1948 With friends, Mr Oster purchased the shares of Express Motor and Body Works, Ltd., and has returned to London to give his whole time to this company.[2]
