Finngrundet Lightship

Built in 1903 in Gavle.

Anchored at the Finngrundet banks in the southern Bothnian Sea during the ice-free season. Crew of 8.

In 1927 the paraffin lamps were replaced by an AGA beacon, and this in turn was electrified in 1940. Range of beacon: 11 nautical miles.

Decommissioned and preserved in 1969. Now moored alongside the Vasa Museum (Stockholm)
