1841 Francis Berry, Senior 50, iron founder, lived in Sowerby, with Betty Berry 50 and Francis Berry 15 iron founder[1]

1844 Francis Berry (junior) married Esther Wilson in Halifax[2]

1851 Francis Berry Junior, Iron founder, Millwright, lived in Norland, with Esther Berry 29, Mary Berry 5, James Wilson Berry 4, Harriet Berry 2, James Wilson 64, his Father-in-law, George Wilson 36, brother in law, James Jowett 14, his nephew[3]

1853 An iron founder. Birth of son, Henry[4]. Living in Sowerby Bridge, Yorks.

1879 Francis Berry left the Partnership with Robert Berry, carrying on business as Ironfounders, Engineers, and Machine Makers, at the Calder Dale Ironworks, Sowerby Bridge, under the style or firm of Francis Berry and Sons[8]

1879 His sons George, an engineer, and Arthur, and their wives and their cousin Mary A. Berry emigrated to Australia[9]
