FREDERIC BRADLEY was born at Droitwich on 7th March 1843.
After having served an apprenticeship with Messrs. Holland and Co., engineers, of Worcester, he commenced business in 1862 on his own account at the Clensmore Ironworks, Kidderminster, which he carried on to the date of his death.
In 1902 he took one of his sons - Ernest - into partnership.
He was also interested in other businesses.
In 1881 he purchased, in conjunction with Mr. Joseph Bourne, the business of Messrs. John H. Wilson and Co., Sandhills, Liverpool, crane and winch makers, which he formed into a limited company in 1892, having previously dissolved partnership with Mr. Bourne.
In the same year he took in, as partners, Mr. C. Q. Henriques, of London, and Mr. S. Porter, of Birkenhead, who continued with him as co-directors.
In 1906 he purchased, in conjunction with his son, the wheel-making business of Messrs. George Turton and Co., Caldwall Foundry, Kidderminster, which was founded in 1831.
His death took place in London, after an operation, on 6th December 1906, in his sixty-fourth year.
He became a Member of this Institution in 1882.
