FREDERICK STAFFORD, born on the 27th December, 1847, died at Perth, Western Australia, on the 7th August, 1912.
Trained under the late Mr. S. Hughes, of Westminster, he went out to Brazil in 1872 on the construction of the North Western Railway of Monte Video.
Subsequently he was employed on the Ceylon Government Railways, and in Western Australia as Engineer Successively of the Great Southern Railway and the Midland Railway, afterwards practising as a Consulting Engineer in Perth.
Mr. Stafford was elected an Associate of The Institution on the 4th December, 1877, was subsequently placed in the class of Associate Members, and was transferred to the class of Members on the 14th October, 1884.
