We regret to learn of the death of Mr. F. W. Campion on May 31st, at the age of forty-four years.
Mr. Campion joined Johnson and Phillips, Ltd., Charlton, as manager of the switchgear and transformer departments in January, 1934. His apprenticeship was served in the switchgear department of Ferranti, Ltd.
Later he joined the General Electric Company, Ltd., at Witton, and from there he went to Siemens Brothers, Ltd., dynamo works at Stafford - now the English Electric Company, Ltd. - where he was chief draughtsman in the switchgear department, and subsequently he gained further experience with Crompton Parkinson, Ltd., at Chelmsford.
He served with the Royal Engineers in France during the Great War.
