1969 A major reorganisation of AEI and English Electric was carried out after they were acquired by GEC. In electronics, GEC-Marconi Electronics was created which included the Marconi Co (including Marconi Instruments, Marconi-Elliott Microelectronics, Eddystone Radio and overseas activities). After reorganisation, there were 4 "market-oriented management companies" covering the various GEC-Marconi Electronics companies; these were[1]:
