1982 Signed deal with Hitachi to licence Hitachi's general purpose robot[3] with manufacturing expected to start in 1985; in the meantime robots would be imported from Japan.
1989 Presumably became GEC Transmission and Power Projects of Stafford became part of GEC Alsthom: T. and D. Protection and Control
