GAYFORD Rix was born in King's Lynn in 1873 and received his technical education at King's Lynn Technical School.
He served his apprenticeship from 1889 to 1893 in the works of Messrs. Savage Brothers, of King's Lynn, afterwards remaining with the firm until 1897.
He then entered the drawing office of Messrs Siemens Brothers and Company, Ltd., at Woolwich. Mr. Rix continued his technical studies at Woolwich Polytechnic and in 1902 obtained the bronze medal of that institution.
