GEORGE GARSON, BSc., born in Orkney on the 23rd February, 1862, died at Heidelberg, Victoria, on the 12th June, 1911.
Educated at Glasgow and Edinburgh Universities and trained under Messrs. A. and J. Main and Company, of Glasgow, he went out to Victoria in 1889, where he was employed first on the railways and afterwards in the Water Supply Department.
After acting as Shire Engineer of Waranga for 10 years, he was appointed Deputy Chief Engineer of the Water Supply Department, and in 1906 a member of the State Rivers and Water Supply Commission.
Mr. Garson was elected an Associate Member of The Institution on the 1st December, 1891, and was transferred to the class of Members on the 18th December, 1906.
