1820 Married Elizabeth Mitchell, who died in 1835

1838 Married Sarah Whitley, who died in 1840

1841 Married Mary Midgley

1851 Employer, spindle, power loom and worsted stuff manufacturer, employing 60 men, 40 boys, 39 women and 29 girls, living in Keighley with his wife Mary, 6 children and his sister in law[1]

1861 Machine maker living in Keighley with his family[2]

1869 Died in Keighley; his executors included 2 of his sons, Richard Longden Hattersley and Edwin Greaves Hattersley, both machine makers and worsted manufacturers[3]
