GEORGE LAUDER died at Greenwich, Connecticut, on August 24, 1924, at the age of eighty-seven.
He was educated at the Glasgow University.
In 1892 he became a director of the Carnegie Steel Company, which had just been formed. He was associated with Andrew Carnegie for thirty years. He retired from the steel business in 1901, when the Carnegie Steel Company was acquired in connection with the formation of the United States Steel Corporation.
He was elected a member of the Iron and Steel Institute in 1888.
