GEORGE LEONARD CASSIDY, after serving his apprenticeship from 1918 to 1923 in the Royal Arsenal, Woolwich, was associated with the Morgan Crucible Company, Ltd., of Battersea, from 1926 up to the time of his death, which occurred on 3rd January 1942 at the early age of thirty-eight.
During his connection with the firm he filled successively the positions of foundry manager, technical assistant, assistant works manager, and finally works manager. Mr. Cassidy was elected a Graduate of the Institution in 1926 and was transferred to Associate Membership in 1941, only a few months before his untimely death. He was also an Associate Member of the Institution of Civil Engineers.
